Rudrani Farbman Brown

Rudrani, WYC founding director, began teaching yoga in 1966 and opened the World Yoga Center in 1972. In 1974, she dedicated the school to her teacher and to the teachings at the heart of the personal evolutionary journey. This founding vision brought yoga’s greatness and inner light into a neighborhood school striving to thrive in a secular culture. She continues to steer the school in the steady, uninterrupted sharing of practices that has allowed the community to keep the light bright in its core intention.

She has been a teacher of meditation, philosophy, and transformational practices for many decades. Trained in several styles of Hatha yoga, she is an Anusara-Inspired yoga teacher whose studies in the varied fields of consciousness continue to this day. A charismatic teacher, her Hatha and meditation classes are known for their clear instruction and spiritual depth. An innovative mentor and counselor, Rudrani has maintained a private counseling practice since 1986. She thrives on sharing the wisdom teachings and practices of the Yoga Tradition, which allow us to grow to our fullest dimension.
